On September 14, 2024, a heartfelt send-off and thanksgiving ceremony was held for the 5th Special Forces “Primus Inter Pares” Battalion of the Philippine Army at their headquarters in Brgy. Kablon, Tupi, South Cotabato. The event was a moment of deep gratitude and reflection on the battalion’s dedication to peace and development in the region.
The ceremony was graced by key partners, including members of the Polomolok Muslim Council of Elders, Moro Youth Organization of Polomolok, Rescued Friends (RFs), Dole Philippines, Inc., PSWDO, represented by Ms. Sonia Bautista, and ELCIP Focal Person Atty. Leah May Orincio. Together, these partners have played a vital role alongside the 5th SFBn in supporting programs such as the ProPEACE Programme of Mahintana in collaboration with OND-HESED Foundation, Maguindanaoan Development Foundation, Tribal Leaders Development Foundation, Kasilak Development Foundation, and Dole Philippines, Inc.
Through joint efforts, significant contributions have been made towards Madrasah supports, empowering Moro youth, assisting Rescued Friends (FRs), and advancing peace and security initiatives in the area. During the ceremony, the 5th SFBn also recognized Mahintana through plaques and certificates of appreciation, acknowledging Mahintana’s invaluable support in the implementation of its peace and development programs and promotion of peace in the community which contributed to the accomplishment of the unit’s mission.
As the 5th SFBn embarks on their new mission, we send them off with our deepest gratitude and prayers for success in their new areas of operation. At the same time, we warmly welcome the 105th Infantry Battalion and 38th Infantry Battalion as we continue our shared journey towards lasting peace.
