Mahintana Foundation, Inc., through its ProPEACE Programme, organized a ‘Pasasalamat sa Tropa,’ a heartfelt expression of gratitude dedicated to the commendable members of the 549th Engineer Battalion, 54th Engineer Brigade—specifically the Alpha, Bravo and Charlie Company. Their unwavering service played a pivotal role in the successful renovation of the Madrasah Arramaniyah Al-Islamiah Renovation in Sitio Bio, Barangay Lapu, and the construction of the Maharlika Islamic Learning Center in Purok Maharlika, Barangay Magsaysay, Polomolok, South Cotabato. This initiative was funded by the AY Foundation, Inc. through the Adopt-A-School Program, marking the first partnership with the 549th Engineer Battalion, 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army.
This significant event drew the presence of Madrasah students, Ustadz, parents, and key figures, including Hon. Atty. Leo A. Cordova, Committee Head on Peace and Order Council, representing the LGU Polomolok, together with Mr. Rhyolite Balili, Mr. Erwin D. Balogo, Community Relations Department Superintendent of Dole Philippines, Inc., CPT. Rogie Munoz, the Commanding Officer of the 10th SF Company, the 10th Special Forces Company of 5th Special Forces Battalion, LT. COL John Rick F. Medel-COP PNP Polomolok, Datu Ambas Cartil Sr., MCE Polomolok Federated Chairman, and members of the Muslim Youth Organization of Polomolok (MYOP), along with the BLGU representatives from Lapu and Magsaysay.”
In a touching exchange, the 549th Engineer Battalion were honored with Thank You Cards from the students, a medical kit courtesy of Health Plus, and generous Dole products from Dole Philippines, Inc. As a poetic gesture, a heartfelt poem penned by one of the students, Bheng Akrima Seddic Andiam, added an extra layer of sincerity to the appreciation shared during this memorable occasion.
