In celebration of its 15th Anniversary, The Health Plus Project of Mahintana Foundation Inc. assisted the Sarangani Provincial Health Office (PHO), together with the Provincial Tourism Council (PTC) headed by Jobelle Pacquiao, in its launching of “medical tourism” in the province. A successful medical mission dubbed as Lakbay Buhay Kalusugan at Barangay Tango, Glan, Sarangani Province. The 50 volunteers served the 200 beneficiaries from the five different Barangays of Glan with a free laboratory testing, ultrasound, dental care, medical consultation, COVID-19 Vaccination, and medicines. “Tutok Buntis Kits” were also provided for pregnant women in collaboration with International Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IPI), as well as breads from NUTRIPAN Bakeshop were provided during the feeding program for malnourished and preschool children.
This is in support of the Department of Tourism’s “Sa Booster, Turismo Pinaslakas” campaign in line with the celebration of National Tourism Month, encouraging everyone to get vaccinated and get their dose of booster shots to re-open the tourism industry and add economic activities that may benefit the people of the province. The Sarangans were pleased by the service given to them and one of the beneficiaries said, “Gusto nako mahimo ko nga inspirasyon sa ubang buntis nga mahadlok magpa-booster ug aron mas maging protektado ko sa Covid ug protektado sab akong pamilya”. The event was held in conjunction with the Barangay Bakunahan program for COVID-19, which seeks to attain the 80% target for elderly residents who have received vaccinations and at least 50% of Sarangans who have received booster injections.
