The Health Plus Project of Mahintana Foundation Inc. assisted the Sarangani-Ronda Probinsya Para sa Barangay flagship program and conducted a successful medical mission at Barangay New Canaan, Alabel, Sarangani Province last October 3, 2022. Governor Rogelio Pacquiao led the activity to carry out his aim of bringing public service closer to the people. The Ronda Probinsya sa Barangay was conducted alongside the Serbisyong Smile sa Barangay of Alabel, headed by Mayor Vic Paul Salarda.
Together with the Municipal and Provincial Health Offices, headed by Dr. Arvin Alejandro and volunteers from Alabel, Sarangani Province, the MFI served around 2,500 beneficiaries with health and medical services such as free tooth extraction, libreng tuli, tutok buntis, free eye checkup, distribution of free medicine, COVID-19 vaccination, laboratory examination, and medical consultation. The anti-rabies campaign drive, deworming, and free vitamins for animals were also conducted by the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian. Different government agencies such as the Land Transportation Office, Department of Public Works and Highways, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, and the Philippine Army also participated in the activity and were in full force in bringing different public services to the community. Along with the office of Governor Paquiao, the MFI handed out food packs containing meals, Nutripan breads, and Dole products benefiting 1,000 households. The locals were delighted with the assistance they received.
