The Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc. and Mahintana Foundation Inc. turned over the Kinilis Potable Water System (KPWS) to the BLGU Kinilis and Prk. 8 community members on June 30, 2020 at Prk. 8, Brgy. Kinilis, Polomolok, South Cotabato. The water system consists of one spring source collection box, one 10 cu. m. ferrocement water tank, one 5 cu. m. ferrocement water tank, transmission and distribution lines and 12 tap stands supplying potable water directly to the 84 households of Prk. 8, Kinilis.

The turnover ceremony was participated by Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc., Dole Philippines Inc., LGU Polomolok, Mahintana Foundation Inc., BLGU Kinilis and Prk. 8 community leaders. The blessing of the water system was led by Ptr. Marcelino Buan who offered thanksgiving prayer and followed by Damsu, a B’laan Thanksgiving ritual, led by IPMR Oliver Buan and Chieftain Jimmy Buan. After which, messages of support were given emphasizing the need to conserve and protect the environment and watershed to sustain the supply of water. The partners and community leaders then proceeded to the signing of Deed of Donation, ceremonial turning-over of the gate valve hand-wheel and opening of faucet. The program ended with a lunch salo-salo for the whole community to celebrate the provision of water supply.

The Agos Project-Kinilis Potable Water System Rehabilitation Project, funded by Coca-Cola Foundation and implemented by Mahintana, is aligned to the Philippine government efforts to help achieve the targets set for 2030 under Sustainable Development Goal #6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
