In line with the 5th Youth Summit and 4th Leadership Camp of Brgy. Cannery Site, Polomolok, South Cotabato, 100 youths participated during its livelihood exposure trip in Maligo Multipurpose Cooperative (MMPC) on October 26, 2017. They learned about the basic process of producing the calamansi juice, including the proper administration and practices needed when inside a food processing area.
On October 27, 2017, the same set of participants joined the Tree Growing activity at Field 103C Gully, Prk. Dignadice, Brgy. Poblacion, Polomolok. A total of 1,000 bamboo trees were planted in the riverbanks to serve as a soil erosion and flood control in the area in the future. Barangay Captain Antonio Octavio graced the activity along with the barangay councillors and youth coordinator. After the activity, a symposium was held in the Brgy. Cannery Gymnasium where Mr. Roel Ian Blanker, Mahintana’s Environmental Project Coordinator, shared about the responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices.
The activity is an annual youth development program of the local government unit of Brgy. Cannery under its Task Force on Youth Development. It aims to establish rapport to every youth leaders by upholding a responsible adolescent living to pursue a brighter future for the community.
