Mahintana Foundation, Inc., together with Dole Philippines, Inc., through its Chairs-for-Trees (C4T) Project funded by KI Fresh Access Inc. (KIFA), formally turned over 100 bamboo armchairs to Landan Elementary School, Polomolok, South Cotabato, the pioneering site of the first Bamboo Classroom in Mindanao, as part of its sustained commitment to advancing eco-friendly learning environments and strengthening climate-resilient, sustainable education infrastructure.

The bamboo armchairs, developed through engineered bamboo technology and produced by the trained individuals under livelihood reintegration initiatives for Friends Rescued (FR), exemplify an integrated approach that combines sustainable manufacturing, skills development, and social inclusion. This innovation in school furniture systems not only enhances classroom functionality and durability but also contributes to livelihood generation and community rehabilitation.
Supported by the Department of Science and Technology, the initiative underscores a strong multi-sectoral collaboration advancing green technology adoption in the education sector—promoting environmental stewardship, fostering inclusive growth, and reinforcing long-term community-based sustainability outcomes.
