SOLARES livelihood partners of Sarangani participated in the Seminar on Accounting for Non-Accountants facilitated by Peace & Equity Foundation through Mr. Stefan H. Babera with resourcespeaker Ms. Jennifer Porsuelo, CPA on October 28-29, 2021 at the Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City.

The seminar involved the participation of select board members and non-financial staff of cooperatives, microfinance institutions, and people’s organizations to gain knowledge and understanding on the importance of accounting and financial processes and policies in organizations. Of the livelihood partners operating in Sarangani, Kiamba Micro Entrepreneurs Multipurpose Cooperative (KiMEMCO) and Sta. Cruz Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SCMPC) participated physically at the activity venue. KPS-SEED Katotohanan, Pagkakaisa at Serbisyo-Small Enterprise & Economic Development, Inc. participated through Zoom together with partner electric cooperatives, South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SOCOTECO II) and Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SUKELCO). There were cooperatives/foundations who participated in the seminar such as Polo Samahang Nayon Multi-Purpose Cooperative, CAMPCO, OND Hesed Foundation, and SPECTRUM.

Following the seminar proper, Ms. Porsuelo and Mr. Babera facilitated a coaching session for KiMEMCO and SCMPC regarding action plans and next steps. The seminar for Sultan Kudarat livelihood partners will be conducted on November 03, 2021.
