The EU-funded RESOURCEGov 2 Project conducted a Legislative Information Tracking System (LITS) to 22 out of 23 LGUs of South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat provinces on January 25, 2018 at Viajera Dine & Café, Koronadal City, South Cotabato. There were 73 participants and six (6) Mahintana Foundation personnel present in the event. Only LGU Lambayong was not able to come although they have already installed LITS and been using the system since the first phase of the project.
Mr. Roel Ian P. Blanker, the Project Manager, welcomed the participants followed by a message from Mr. Jobe C. Tubigon, the Operations Manager of Mahintana. DILG 12 ARD Ms. Lailyn A. Ortiz gave a message of support and thanks to the Mahintana Foundation Inc. for partnering with DILG in this project. According to her “If you know someone, half of the work is done. And, you [Mahintana Foundation Inc.] make our work easier.” Moreover, the IT staff of DILG 12, Mr. Mel Roy Manait came to express his gratitude to the project and also to support the event by providing technical assistance to the participants. The project overview was presented by Lorielyn P. Patoc, the Project Coordinator of RESOURCEGov2 Project in Region 12.
Each LGU was given the installer and hardcopy of the LITS manual. Mr. Blanker then presented the LITS and conducted a step-by-step installation of the system while the rest of the RESOURCEGov 2 team guided the participants during the process. Some of the common issues encountered during the installation were the need to update the computer operating system and compatibility of database installers. These issues were resolved through system updates and using the right installers which were provided by the RESOURCEGov 2 team. After the installation, the participants were able to explore the system and others already uploaded their own LGU’s logo to the interface. They were delighted that the system will make their archiving easier.

At the end of the day, all the LGUs were able to install the system except for LGUs Palimbang and Kalamansig due to some problems with their laptop units. The two LGUs have decided to install LITS to their computer units in their office instead. The participants were satisfied with the comprehensive LITS training saying that they needed the system since then. The project team is set to conduct visits per LGU to monitor the use of LITS and assist the LGUs for any technical problems when using the system.
