The RESOURCEGov 2 project staff and chairpersons/board representatives from Mahintana, MINCODE and its member organizations were oriented with the financial and operation systems and policies of the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines on December 13-14, 2017 during the Project’s Inception Workshop held at Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City.  It was also an opportunity to discuss and address concerns about the project and finalize the Project Action Plan for the Year 2018.

The Project Manager, Mr. Roel Ian Blanker, shared a short project overview highlighting the project objectives and specific deliverables while Ms. Wilma Jumilla, Bookkeeper, provided a detailed explanation about EU’s relevant financial policies and regulations. This is to ensure that all project staff will have a common understanding of proper financial practices and for them to understand their responsibilities for the successful implementation and completion of the project for 3 years.

Also part of the 2-day workshop was the demonstration on the installation of the Legislative Information Tracking System (LITS), as an effective tool to easily archive ordinances/resolutions and other pertinent documents. The system will be introduced to target municipalities of the project which will be helpful in improving their local revenue generation and performance monitoring.
