Mahintana Foundation, Inc., through the Farm-to-Table: Market-Oriented Vegetables Production and Enterprises (MOVE) Project funded by BPI Foundation Inc., concluded the Two-Day Training of Integrated Pest Management which was facilitated by Engr. Orly Jun S. Boot, ABE Coordinator of OMAG-Polomolok, Mr. Elias O. Diamante, Jr., IPM Coordinator of OPAG-South Cotabato, and Mr. Ariel Boreros, Science Research Specialist II, and Mr. Roland James Laboratory Technician represented the Regional Crop Protection Center (RCPC) RXII-Tacurong together with Mr. Martiniano Magdolot, MFI President, and Mr. Jobe C. Tubigon, MFI Operations Manager. The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of farmers on the principles and methods of IPM while also empowering them to make informed decisions on pest management strategies based on the integrated pest management framework, reduce the use of pesticides, minimize environmental and health risks, and increase crop productivity and profitability.
During the two-day training of IPM, the participants immersed themselves in new techniques and methods in regards to organic farming practices and, at the same time, their willingness to adopt and acquire knowledge in their respective farms.
Moreover, Mahintana Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with OMAG-Polomolok and OPAG, conducted farmer registrations regarding the RSBSA to ensure assistance for farmers and program alignment with agriculture sectors.
