The Municipal Nutrition Council of Tboli, South Cotabato had a 2-day Strategic Planning Workshop facilitated by Mahintana Foundation, Inc. with funding support from Dole Philippines, Inc. held on April 3-4 , 2014 at the ELM Mansion, Koronadal City , attended by Municipal officials, department heads and personnel from the LGU and representatives from Dolefil. Ms. Rosedane Sta. Maria- Municipal Nutrition Action Officer , expressed her happiness and excitement now that the MNC has a better direction guided by the strategic action plan. She is hopeful that with the implementation of the programs, projects and activities included in the action plan, and the support of stakeholders and partners, the MNC will perform better, reduce the cases of malnutrition in Tboli and eventually lower its status in the regional and provincial ranking for the most number of malnourished children.
MNAO Designate Rosedane Sta. Maria expressed her appreciation to Dolefil, MFI and the LGU for making the strategic planning feasible.
Key strategies in the action plan include improvement of program management capacity of the MNC, capacity building for Barangay Nutrition Scholars, sustainability of nutrition programs through networking and partnership building , integration of social enterprise through the establishment of NutriPan bakery and enactment of the Municipal Nutrition Code. Tboli is also a project area of the Kapit Bisig Para sa Kabataan project implemented by MFI.
