For 60 beneficiaries of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) from Polomolok and Tupi, summer will be a 30-day exposure and involvement in rehabilitating gullies and river tributaries through survey/ mapping, tree planting , installation of biodegradable used fishnets as earthmatting and planting of Napier grasses. Dole Philippines, Inc. pledged commitment to support the SPES, implemented by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the local government units , by providing opportunity for poor but deserving students to work this summer and earn money for their education. The SPES beneficiaries will be assigned in the Gully Tree Planting Project of Dolefil, implemented by Mahintana in partnership with Tibud sa Katibawasan Multi Purpose Cooperative.

The beneficiaries had an orientation on April 21, 2014 at the Dolefil Training Room 03, with inputs given by Mr. LL Orit of Dolefil’s HR Selection and Placement , Ms. Liza D. Hora- Admin and Finance officer of Mahintana and Mr. Junbard Mahinay- Gen. Manager of TSKMPC. Also present were Ms. Ma. Lourdes Hormigos and Ms. Flora Cavan, PESO Managers of Polomolok and Tupi respectively and MFI and TSKMPC staff handling the Gully Tree Planting project.
