Smile Child Landan, Maligo Junior Youth Officials, and Kasama Ka: Peer Educator Group – Child Led Group Rubber, child led groups from Barangays Landan, Maligo, and Rubber in Polomolok, South Cotabato, together with youth leaders from the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) and the Polomolok CHILD Representatives, completed the three day Peer Education Session on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR), Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) Orientation, and Community Planning Session held from May 31 to June 3, 2026 at East Asia Royale Hotel, General Santos City.

Sessions on Child Safeguarding Policy, Child Safeguarding Code of Conduct, Referral Pathway and the role of the Integrated Information and Service Delivery Network (IISDN) were facilitated by Mr. Buhary A. Abusama, Mahintana Project Coordinator. Participants also learned about Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR), Puberty, Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, Child Protection Laws, Reporting and Referral Mechanisms, and the HEADSSS Assessment tool from Ms. Kristine Joy D. Oray, Ms. Mayflor B. Neri, Mr. Hermer B. Tidalgo of Silway 8 National High School, and Mr. Gene Gabriel Taburno of the Municipal Health Office (MHO) of Polomolok. Mr. Mark Gonzales, Mahintana Project Officer, discussed on Child Related Laws, while Mr. Kristan Noel Y. Solas, Brgy. Rubber SK Chairperson, facilitated sessions on Leadership Development, Youth Participation, and Community Planning.

Participants also developed action plans and awareness campaigns to be integrated into Project COMPACT initiatives, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) programs, and school-based activities in their respective communities.
As they return to their barangays and schools, these young leaders are expected to serve as peer educators and advocates for child rights and adolescent wellbeing by sharing key learnings with their peers and communities.
Through collaboration among children and youth groups, local government units, schools, and partner organizations, Project COMPACT and Save the Children Philippines continues to promote child protection, meaningful child participation.
