On June 4-5, 2024, Mahintana Foundation Inc., through its COMPACT Project together with the Save the Children Philippines, and stakeholders from South Cotabato gathered at Suncity Suites in General Santos City for a Joint Planning Activity and Workshop. This event brought together representatives from the PLGU South Cotabato and the MLGU of Tupi and Polomolok, along with representatives from the target Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) of Tupi and Polomolok.
The purpose was to strategize and align efforts to create a safer and more inclusive environment for children in South Cotabato. By leveraging local partnerships and focusing on practical, actionable outcomes, the initiative aims to directly benefit the targeted communities. The emphasis was particularly on protecting and empowering all girls, especially those in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA).
The joint planning activity generated excitement among the target beneficiaries of Ha Uman’s A BIGGER VOICE Project, which focuses on empowering girls, and Mahintana Foundation Inc.’s COMPACT Year 2 Project. Through collaborative efforts, these projects are set to make a significant impact in promoting a supportive and secure environment for children in the region.
