The ProPEACE Program of Mahintana Foundation Inc. reinforces the Peer Education and Counselling Roll-out to six Muslim communities in the Municipality of Polomolok, South Cotabato, specifically at the BLGU- Rubber, Magsaysay, Koronadal Proper, Bentung, Sumbakil, and Lumakil. The roll-out started on September 15, 2022, and ended on September 24, 2022 in partnership with Dole Philippines. Its objectives were to support the activities of trained youth peer educators in educating their peers on emerging health, sanitation, nutrition, and education concerns; facilitate peace initiatives and insights on their peers of each identified barangay; and ensure that peer educators share the inputs attained during the trainer’s training.
One of the PEACE advocates from Jose Natividad Integrated School at BLGU-Rubber gladly said, “Nagagalak po kami na mga guro na dito po sa aming paaralan nagkaroon ng ganitong activity kasi this will help us educate our students regarding the Culture of Peace.” Participants are expected to continue to share their knowledge with their peers and to encourage one another to become more responsible and positive members of the community.
