The Health Plus Project successfully conducted the Lakbay Buhay para sa Kalusugan 2022 at Sitio Kolonbong, Brgy. Lamfugon, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, benefitting 477 individuals with the following services: COVID-19 vaccination, dental services, family planning (orientation, implanon insertion and extraction), medical consultation, medicine, laboratory services (STI and HIV testing, x-ray, sputum collection), and feeding program. The mission was organized with the help of 65 volunteers from the PLGU South Cotabato Convergence team, Barangay Health Workers, RHU Lake Sebu, Mayor’s office, Suppliers, IPHO, Special Forcers, BPATs and Dole Philippines last August 19, 2022.
The medical mission provides aid to improve the health and lives of the people who have limited access to medical health and the necessities of life in the far-flung areas of South Cotabato. Because of the limited access to health care services, people were unaware of their health conditions. The Health Plus Project therefore comes in to examine these underserved people and provide them with a suitable guide on how they can better manage and handle their health-related issues. The medical mission is blessed with volunteers from local dental and allied health partners, and people from the community were delighted with the service given by the Health Plus Project.
