In celebration of its 11th founding anniversary, Health Plus Project Team joined and supported the “Lakbay Buhay Kalusugan” on September 25, 2018 at Tambuan Dani IP School, Sitio Macnit, Brgy. Nomoh, Sarangani Province. It partnered with the Sarangani Provincial Health Office (PHO), Municipal Health Offices (MHO) of Maasim and Kiamba, Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Dental Association (PDA), FPOP, Barangay Health Workers (BHW), and Marine Brigade. The medical mission aimed to help residents of Brgy. Nomoh, Brgy. Kanalo and Brgy. Lumatil by giving out free medical services and prescription medicines, address malnutrition among children, and educate the indigents about hygiene and birth control. Among the services rendered were: Tutok Buntis, Tutok Nutrisyon, Dental Care/Oral Care Examination/ Prophylaxis and extraction, Progestin Sub-dermal Implant Insertion (PSI), and non-communicable disease program.
A total of 95 pregnant women were maternity kits (comprised of adult and baby diapers, alcohol, tissue, toothbrush, toothpaste and soap), 44 (Brgy. Nomoh 4, Sitio Macnit 31, Brgy. Lumatil 9, and Brgy. Kanalo 1) identified malnourished children were given hygiene kits (toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, slippers, nail cutter, lice remover, and soap), 120 beneficiaries were given eye glasses, 307 beneficiaries availed of the free medical consultation, 49 children were given school-based immunization, 19 women were given the birth control implant, 30 teenage mothers were identified (ages 8-16 years old),a nd 5 out of 12 children were positive with parasitic worm infestations. For the feeding, Tutok Nutrisyon assessed and fed with manna rice 95 children (Brgy. Nomoh 11, Sitio Macnit 74, Brgy. Lumatil 9, and Brgy. Kanalo 1).
