Mahintana Foundation Inc. in partnership with Dole Philippines Inc., Sarangani Province Empowerment and Community Transformation Forum (SPECTRUM), Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF), Habitat Foundation for Humanity, Polo Samahang Nayon Multi-Purpose Cooperative and the Provincial Government Unit of Sarangani and Local Government Unit of Maasim, has recently concluded its turnover ceremony for the Lamlangil Water System at Sitio Lamlagil, Barangay Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani Province last October 21, 2008. This P0.9 Million-worth water system project for Lamlangil will ensure the communities’ continuous supply of potable water (for drinking and cooking) even during dry months. Moreover, it will reduce the average fetching distance from 3.8 kilometers to at least 200 meters from the source.
Right after the Water System Turn-over, a Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Day Care Center Project was also held at the adjacent area. This P0.3 Million-worth project is supported by the World Vision in partnership with above mentioned institutions. This project is designed to provide at least 250 pre-school children with accessible and conducive learning place for primary education.Moreover, pre-school children from Sitio Lamlangil would no longer spend four (4) hours of walking to and from the nearest Arcal Elementary School, which is located about five (5) kilometers away from the major residential areas.
