Mahintana, in partnership with the SM Foundation, Inc., has turned over the newly renovated Polomolok East Community Clinic (PECC) to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Polomolok in Brgy. Cannery Site. This renovation enhances the clinic’s environment, ensuring greater comfort for patients and healthcare providers while also improving healthcare delivery across the nine barangays in the eastern part of Polomolok, predominantly inhabited by the IP community.
Dr. Aristides C. Tan, DOH XII Regional Director, hailed the project as a “foundation of health and prosperity” for the community. Ms. Connie Angeles, Executive Director of SM Foundation, recognized the dedicated health workers and expressed her gratitude for the support of Mahintana and Dolefil as social good partners in delivering healthcare to those in need. Additionally, the SM Foundation donated two laptops to further digitalize the healthcare system, streamlining operations and improving the record-keeping of the PECC.
Mahintana’s programs focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly on Good Health and Well-Being, and Dolefil’s sustainable goal on Social Care. This is exemplified by Mahintana’s health programs, the Task Force Polomolok Kalikasan, Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (TFP3K), and the HealthPlus shop-in-a-shop, which is now located in the PECC in collaboration with Dolefil and serves as a stop-gap pharmacy to meet the community’s pharmaceutical and healthcare needs.
Ms. Connie Angeles, Executive Director of SM Foundation, attended the event along with SM Foundation staff, Dole Philippines Inc., represented by Mr. Yohei Kajikawa, VP of Dolefil, Ms. Mary Jane D. Cruz, Dolefil HR Director, and Ms. Raquel J. Ramirez, Dolefil HR Manager. Also present were Dr. Eva B. Hormigos, Board Member of Mahintana; Dr. Aristides C. Tan, DOH XII Regional Director, Mr. John Licayan, DILG Chief of Staff; and CPT. Rogie Munoz of the 10th SF Company, Ret. Gen. Gerardo Barrientos, Municipal Administrator representing LGU Polomolok, Hon. Leo Cordova, SB Committee Chairperson on Peace Development and Agriculture, Mr. Jerome Ante, Municipal IPMR, Tribal Chieftain of Brgy. Landan, Hon. Calixto B. Salada, Municipal Councilor, Committee on Health, Nutrition, and Sanitation, and Hon. Rogen Ermitanio, Brgy. Captain of Cannery Site, alongside Brgy. Captains of the other eight barangays.
