MOVE-UP Baseline Socio-Profiling of Individual Vegetable Farmers and Farmers’ associations

As part of the implementation of the MOVE-UP (Mainstreaming Opportunities and Ventures for Economic Upliftment of People) Project, Mahintana Foundation, Inc., in partnership with OMAg–Polomolok, successfully conducted a baseline socio-profiling of individual vegetable farmers and farmers’ associations in Brgy. Maligo and Brgy. Kinilis on February 4–5, 2026.

The activity established a baseline socio-economic and agricultural database to support evidence-based planning, beneficiary targeting, and the design of responsive livelihood and agricultural interventions under the MOVE-UP Project. Through household interviews, field validation, and close coordination with barangay officials and farmer leaders, key data were gathered on farmers’ demographics, income sources, farm size and tenure, crop production, access to inputs and irrigation, and priority support needs.

Covering 19 farmer households from brgy. maligo and 13 farmers households from brgy. kinilis, the profiling also provided a platform to listen directly to farmers’ realities, challenges, and aspirations, ensuring that future project interventions are grounded in community needs. Key concerns identified include pest management, access to quality inputs, market linkage, and capacity-building support.

This activity marks an important step in advancing community-centered, data-driven, and inclusive rural development, strengthening collaboration between the LGU and project partners to improve farmers’ livelihoods and promote sustainable agriculture.

Together, we move communities forward—through informed planning and strong partnerships.
