
The Ridge-to-Reef Program of Mahintana, together with Dole Philippines, Inc., participated in the Linggo ng Mt. Matutum 2025 Culmination Program, an event focused on environmental conservation, eco-tourism promotion, and community engagementโhighlighting the importance of preserving Mt. Matutumโs rich biodiversity.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Polomolok led the celebration at Sitio Keumang, Brgy. Palkan, Polomolok, bringing together local officials, environmental advocates, and community members. With 189 participants, 500 seedlings of endemic trees were planted, reinforcing the municipalityโs reforestation efforts in coordination with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Polomolok.

During the event, Mr. Rusty Jayme, representing LGU Polomolok, formally announced the Keumang Trail as Polomolokโs designated trekking site for Mt. Matutum. The Protected Area Management Office of Mt. Matutum Protected Landscape (PAMO-MMPL) also supported the initiative. In her remarks, Mrs. Estelita Corpuz, speaking on behalf of the Protected Area Superintendent (PASu), expressed gratitude for Polomolokโs commitment to conservation emphasizing the need for continued collaboration among LGUs, environmental organizations, and the private sector to sustain these initiatives.
The event not only celebrated Mt. Matutumโs ecological significance but also reinforced the collective responsibility of safeguarding its natural resources for future generations.
