The Adopt-A-School Program, of Mahintana Foundation, Inc., funded by AY Foundation and Dole Philippines, Inc., in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Surallah, the 549th Engineer “Kapayapaan” Battalion of the 54th Engineer Brigade, and the 38th Infantry โ€œWe Clearโ€ Battalion of the 1st Mechanized Infantry (Maaasahan) Brigade, Philippine Army, marked the official turnover of two newly constructed classroom buildings. One building was handed over to Upper Sepaka Integrated School, and the other to Upper Talahik Integrated School, both located in Surallah.

As part of the effort to enhance the learning environment, the program also included a donation of 100 chairs through the Chairs-for-Trees Project, funded by KI Fresh Access. Additionally, essential classroom furniture and equipment were provided, including one teacherโ€™s table, a blackboard, and a cabinet, ensuring a comfortable and functional environment for both students and teachers.

The event was commemorated with a Ceremonial Signing of the Deed of Donation, an unveiling of the marker and paint mural, and a key turnover ceremony, all of which highlighted the power of collaboration and community-driven development. A plaque of appreciation was also presented to the 1st Mechanized Brigade, 38th Infantry Battalion, 54th Engineer Brigade, and 549th Engineer Battalion, recognizing their hard work and dedication in bringing these classrooms to life.

The event was attended by various distinguished guests, including Ms. Pinky Melanie Perez, RCBC Branch Manager; Ms. Liza Duropan-Lopez, Executive Director of Mahintana Foundation, Inc.; Mr. Roel Ian Blanker, MFI Operations Officer; Mr. Erwin Balogo, Community Relations Superintendent of Dole Philippines; Col. Ronel R. Manalo, Acting Commander of the 1st Mechanized Brigade; Hayd Ali Swaib, Provincial Director of DILG; BGen. Darwin Hernandez, Commander of the 54th Engineer Sarangay Brigade; Hon. Pedro M. Matinong Jr., Mayor of Surallah; and other key local officials, including Barangay Captains Arnold Buriel and Edon Ambas. Also in attendance were Dr. Maria Fe Cantor, Public Schools District Supervisor; Mr. Bert Labuaya of DepEd South Cotabato; and senior officers from the 549th Engineer “Kapayapaan” Battalion and the 38th Infantry “We Clear” Battalion.
