In line with the Youth Development Roadmap for Polomolok in collaboration with various local government agencies, Mahintana Foundation Inc., through its COMPACT Project, ProPEACE Programme, and Task Force Kalusugan (Polomolok), conducted a Peer Education Session with a theme “Capacitating Youth Leaders for Resilient Communities: Integrating Health, Safety, Environment, and a Culture of Peace in Polomolok” last September 4-6, 2024 at Esma Restaurant, Polomolok, South Cotabato.

The session was attended by youth leaders from the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation of Polomolok, Polomolok Community Red Cross Youth, , PYAP, IP Youth, 4H-Club, Moro Youth Organization of Polomolok, and the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of both public and private schools in Polomolok.

The session was graced by Ms. Liza Duropan-Hora, Executive Director of Mahintana and Dr. Mary Grace D. Salmorin from the Municipal Health Office.

Throughout the event, participants were equipped with vital knowledge on health promotion, safety and risk management, environmental sustainability, culture of peace, social justice, group dynamics, and facilitation techniques. Key resource speakers included Peer Educators from Polomolok Teen Center (Municipal Health Office) led by Mr. Gabriel T. Taburno, ARH Coordinator; Mr. Roy B. Ligtas, Mahintana Health & Safety Officer; Engr. Edward Novida, Ridge-to-Reef Project Officer; Mr. Julius Ceasar Maniego, KASILAK Area Coordinator; Ms. Margie S. Managuit, Mahintana Program Manager; 1LT Michael P. Jordan, Bravo Company Commander of the 38th Infantry Battalion; and CPT Rogie MuΓ±oz, Commanding Officer of the 10th Special Forces Company.

The participating organizations also developed action plans for their future activities, which were presented to the group alongside partners from DepEd, including Ms. Lorelyn Fabulare, Ms. Agnes Cantivar (School Principals), and Ms. Emelyn Octa (SSLG Federated Adviser). Through this initiative, Mahintana Foundation, in partnership with key stakeholders, reaffirms its commitment to harmonize youth efforts in Polomolok. Empowering young leaders, fostering a stronger, and more resilient community.
