On June 20-21, 2024, Mahintana Foundation Inc., through its COMPACT Project together with the Save the Children Philippines, and Child Lead Groups (CLGs) from the 14 barangays of Alabel gathered at Suncity Suites in General Santos City for a Capacity Building to CLGs and girl adolescents (Focus on self-awareness, laws/policies on children, CP referral Pathways, ASRHR, gender and CEFMU.
This event brought Mahintana’s COMPACT project team and Save the Children Philippines, along with the participants which are the Child Led Groups (CLGs) with their adult support from the Municipality of Alabel, Sarangani Province.
This aims to capacitate the CLGs on the important topics as well as to orient the participants on Children’s Rights, ASRHR, Republic Act 11596, Adolescent Pregnancy Bill and Child Protection Referral Pathway. The emphasis was particularly on protecting and empowering Child-led Groups and to build them in also helping their fellow children in their community.
The Capacity Building Activity bring out enthusiasm to the participants of Mahintana Foundation and Save the Children COMPACT Year 2. Through collaborative efforts the activity were successfully conducted and topics are well delivered.
