Mahintana celebrates World Environment Day with the theme “Solutions to Plastic Pollution”. 
In the fight against plastic pollution, the Ridge to Reef Program of MFI, in partnership with Dole Philippines, Inc., together with DENR XII-EMB and WQMA, BLGU Buayan, MDRRMO Polomolok, Philippine Cost Guard Auxiliary 1404th Division and Philippine Red Cross South Cotabato Chapter, planted 600 hills of mangrove along the coast of Purok Minanga, Brgy. Buayan, General Santos City, and collected a total of 125 kg of solid waste during the coastal clean-up drive. Together with the partners, the MFI has donated and conducted the unveiling of signage for the Saganang Buhay Nagkaka-isa Association.
