On August 18-21, through the ProPEACE Program, Mahintana Foundation, Inc., in cooperation with the Local Government Unit of Polomolok, conducted the Trainor’s Training on Peer Education and Counselling, participated by in-school and out-of-school youths from the following barangays in Polomolok: Rubber, Magsaysay, Lumakil, Bentung, Lapu, Sumbakil, Koronadal Proper and Landan.

The participants were oriented with the topics of peer facilitation, nutrition and sanitation, reproductive and mental health, values education, and basic concepts of the culture of peace. The youths were trained with the goal of producing capable peer educators who will relay their learnings to their fellow youths within their respective communities.

The activity was funded by the Global Community Engagements and Resilience Fund and also Dole Philippines, Inc. through the Polomolok Task Force Kalusugan with the intent of educating the community in the areas of adult reproductive health, nutrition and sanitation.
With the support from GCERF, ProPEACE is implemented through a consortium with Mahintana Foundation Inc. as lead recipient along with Kasilak Development Foundation Inc., OND Hesed Foundation, Maguindanaon Development Foundation, Inc. and Tribal Leaders Development Foundation Inc. in the 8 municipalities of South Cotabato and Sarangani.
