As chosen beneficiary of the Adopt-A-School Project implemented by Mahintana Foundation, Inc., Perfecto B. Salada Elementary School held its pioneer Tree Parenting Activity as part of their reciprocating activity on October 14, 2015 participated by at least 300 students from Grade 5 and 6 levels and 100 teachers. The ‘Tree Parenting’ is a terminology used pertaining to planting trees and committing to grow them.
With a target of 3,000 hills to plant along a 3 km stretch in gullies located at Brgy. Cannery, Polomolok, South Cotabato, the participants were able to finish the planting for 2 hours. This tree parenting program is a learning opportunity to get the students involved in the environment and foster environmental stewardship.
