Sarangani Province Empowerment and Community Transformation Forum, Inc. (SPECTRUM) being the implementer of the RESOURCEGov Project in the municipalities of Malapatan and Maasim in Sarangani Province facilitated a learning cross visit on July 8-10, 2015 for key officials and personnel of the local government unit of Maasim to know more about the best practices in Good Governance/ Investment and Revenue Generation being implemented in the local government of Mati, Davao Oriental and Tagum, Davao del Norte. The Team from LGU Maasim composed of 26 representatives from various offices/ departments of the LGU , was joined by five representatives from LGU Malapatan who also signified interest to join the learning exposure and four from SPECTRUM. The Team was able to visit some of Mati City’s known Tourist destinations such as the Mati Baywalk facing the City Hall and with the majestic Pujada Bay as backdrop, the famous Dahican white sand beaches where the city government owned and managed Menzi beach is also located, the Dahican Marine Lives Conservation Project where sea turtle eggs are incubated and hatched, and later had a forum at the Blue Bless Resort with Mati City’s Tourism Officer and some SB Members sharing inputs on Mati City’s robust Tourism-based revenue generation. During the 2nd day of the exposure trip, the participants proceeded to Tagum City where they had the chance to visit the City Slaughterhouse, the La Filipina Memorial Park/ Tagum City Public Cemetery, the City Public Terminal and City Public Market and later had a forum at the Golden palace Hotel with inputs on the City’s Economic Enterprise activities shared by the CLGOO and City Economic Enterprise Officer. The Team also had a chance to visit Tagum City’s night market which is also one of the city’s source of local revenues.
