The Emergency Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Essential Non-food Items (NFI) Distribution Support to Flood-Affected Populations in Central Mindanao Project was initiated in September 2011, implemented in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Mahintana Foundation, Inc.
The project, funded by the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (UN-CERF), aims to complement the LGUs and other humanitarian organizations’ effort in providing timely, coordinated, needs-based and efficient emergency assistance in conflict and disaster affected areas in South Cotabato.
Specifically, the project utilizes the mechanisms adopted by the CCCM cluster. These include mobilizing experienced quick response teams to update LGUs’ database of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and conduct needs assessment to identify the needed essential NFI kits and community facilities, thus providing persons/families the immediate and critical support.
