EU-funded RESOURCEGov Phase 2 Project conducts Legislative Information Tracking System (LITS) Orientation and Workshop

The EU-funded Revenue Enhancement by Strengthening and Optimising the Utilisation of Resources and CSO Engagement in Local Governance (RESOURCEGov) Phase 2 Project conducted a Legislative Information Tracking System (LITS) orientation and workshop to 29 participants coming from the seven (7) local government units (LGU) of Sarangani Province (Glan, Alabel, Kiamba, Maasim, Maitum, Malapatan, and Malungon) on November 13, 2017 held at Glan Training Center, Red Building, Poblacion Glan.

Mr. Jobe Tubigon, Program Manager, provided an overview about the project and demonstrated the functions and features of the system. He also emphasized on the importance of staff delegation who will focus on handling the system to prevent turnover issues in the future.

Mr. Roel Ian Blanker, RESOURCEGov Project Manager, led the participants to an on-screen step-by-step installation of LITS which includes checking of the basic operating requirements, database and installation process.

LITS was originally developed for Windows 7, the widely-used operating system during the RESOURCEGov phase 1 implementation. It was introduced and installed to all partner MLGUs of the Phase 1 Project and has been proven as an effective system for viewing, downloading, editing and printing of reports (e.g. ordinances, resolutions) as well as in capacitating the local Sanggunian in doing their duties efficiently.

At the end of the workshop, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary of Glan, Mr. Marlon R. Daquigan, expressed his gratitude to Mahintana for the capacity building activity through the RESOURCEGov Phase 2 project. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the Mahintana representatives and certificates of participation were given to the participants.
