In a significant stride toward empowering local communities, the Mahintana Foundation, through its ProPEACE Programme, participated in the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Sumbakil Mushroom Association, the Bangsamoro Koronadal Proper Cooperative, and the Department of Science and Technology Region XII (DOST XII). The ceremonial signing was held at the Philippine National Halal Laboratory and Science Center in Barangay Paraiso, Koronadal City.
The agreement facilitates grant assistance for the provision of livelihood equipment to the assisted organizations. The Sumbakil Mushroom Association is set to receive equipment, including a portasol drying facility, to enhance their production processes, which was presented during the event. Meanwhile, the Bangsamoro Koronadal Proper Cooperative will gain access to tools aimed at advancing their initiatives.
This partnership underscores a shared commitment to leveraging science and technology for sustainable development. By supporting community-based organizations, the collaboration aims to boost local enterprises, stimulate economic growth, and improve the livelihoods of communities across the region.
This initiative highlights our efforts to harness innovation as a catalyst for meaningful change in the communities we serve.
