The ProPEACE Programme Phase 2 successfully conducted the “21st Life Skills and Livelihood: Business Enterprises Service Training cum Virtual Peace Conversation for Tri-People Youth” on October 5-6, 2024, at Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City. The event was attended by youth representatives from the tri-people communities of Polomolok, including members of the Moro Youth Organization of Polomolok and Polomolok Community Red Cross Youth.

This aimed to equip participants with critical skills and knowledge essential for business and livelihood enterprises. Topics covered included 21st-century life skills relevant to business and entrepreneurship, basic bookkeeping, and financial reporting. Additionally, the participants engaged in sessions on digital responsibility, reflecting on their digital footprints and setting appropriate privacy and security measures to safeguard their online presence. This activity enabled the youth to assess their cybersecurity awareness and take concrete actions to enhance their digital safety.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Ian Louise Doctolero, Mr. Eigne James Duco, and Ms. Frances Nicole Lim from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Ms. Baby Mae Fobar (Mahintana Bookkeeper), Mr. Roel Ian Blanker (Mahintana Program Manager), and 1LT Michael Jordan (Commanding Officer of the 38th Infantry Battalion).

This initiative supports the ProPEACE Program’s mission of equipping the youth with peace-oriented life skills and livelihood training. By empowering the community with access to livelihood opportunities and skills, the program aims to contribute to the establishment of more progressive and resilient communities.
