Mahintana Foundation, Inc., through its Ridge to Reef Program, together with Dole Philippines, Inc., the LGU Polomolok, and the BLGU of Cannery Site to celebrate Earth Day 2024 under the theme “Planet vs. Plastic.” The event kicked off with an invigorating Zumba session, followed by a productive Clean Up Drive. During the drive, a total of 67 sacks were collected: 33 contained non-biodegradable waste, while 34 were filled with biodegradable materials.

To empower the community with knowledge, the program transitioned to informative lectures. Ms. Betty C. Aquillo from the MENRO Ecological Solid Waste Office enlightened residents on Solid Waste Management, while Mr. Eupee Abedin from the MENRO Forest Section Office addressed DRR-CCA & Forest Protection. Fire safety awareness was reinforced by Ms. Vilma P. Ramirez, Municipal Fire Marshal, and Dr. Mark Cordova provided a valuable health lecture.

This celebration brought together various stakeholders and students, promoting environmental awareness, community action, and equipping people with valuable knowledge to protect our planet.
