The MFI’s ProPEACE Programme Phase II conducted a three-day Peer Education and Muslim Youth Development Program in partnership with the 10th SF Company, Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Polomolok. The activity aims to establish a functional Muslim Youth group and its development agenda.
This activity was attended by 30 youth from the nine Muslim barangays in Polomolok, South Cotabato. Part of the activity is a mindfulness exercise wherein the youth were able to experience a yoga session with Ms. Ice Prudente as their guru. Ms. Jovelyn Baitus-Corella, the Provincial Youth Development Officer, graced the activity and was inspired by the bravery of the young people who participated and accepted the responsibility of leading the Moro youth in Polomolok.
As King Saud Mariano says during his privileged speech as the newly elected president of the Muslim Youth Organization of Polomolok (MYOP) “we need the guidance of elders, for we know that there’s a lot to be done, but with the proper guidance, we believe that we are able to make it, with the help of other stakeholders and partners”.
