On September 14-16, 2022, the MFI broadened its focus and organized a Training of Trainers on Child Rights, Protection, and Participation for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Community Support Groups (CSGs) of the Municipality of Maitum as part of its Project SAFE. This was done in collaboration with Save the Children Philippines, Kasilak Development Foundation Inc., and Dole Philippines. Its objective is to address the high incidences of inequalities and discrimination through multiplying child rights protection and social accountability implementers with various partnered organizations.
Mr. Reyian Salanio facilitated the Training of Trainers and gave the participants from the different Barangays of Maitum a wonderful and fun way of learning about child rights, protection, and participation. Mr. Hector also shared his expertise on facilitating and documenting, which the participants enjoyed as they tried to portray the work of a facilitator. The CSOs and CSGs of Maitum expressed their gratitude to the initiative of Project SAFE to conduct the training and aim to apply what they have learned in their community.
