The RESOURCEGov Phase 2 Project conducted its 1st Annual Review & Planning Workshop on October 23-24, 2018 at Go Hotels, J.P. Laurel Ave., Lanang, Davao City. The 87 (Male 45, Female 42) attendees were composed of EU Delegates, DILG partners, representatives of the 14 LGU beneficiaries, CSO federation presidents, EU partners in Mindanao, the project team, and the media.

Project Coordinators Mr. Jobe “Obet” C. Tubigon and Ms. Raizsa Mae “Bai” Anayatin, the facilitators, acknowledged the participants per province.  President & CEO and Project Director Mr. Martiniano “Dodoy” L. Magdolot gave the opening remarks, thanking and welcoming the participants for coming. Partners from EU Delegation to the Philippines Ms. Caroline Maningo, Dole Philippines Inc. representative Atty. Melquiades Hernandez, MINCODE BOT Chair Ms. Andrea Maria Patricia Sarenas, DILG 11 Compostela Valley Provincial Director Mr. Noel Duarte, and DILG 12 Cotabato Provincial Director Mr. Ali Abdullah gave their messages of gratitude, congratulations, and support to the project. Project Manager Mr. Roel Ian P. Blanker presented the project work plan, targets and accomplishments for November 2017 to September 2018. Questions regarding the project operations were welcomed. Then, Project Admin and Finance Officer Ms. Wilma C. Jumilla presented financial updates. She also shared the challenges experienced by the team during implementation and asked the EU delegates if the recommendations given were right. Ms. Divina Somera, EU Finance Manager, addressed some of the concerns. In the afternoon, 7 out of 14 LGUs were given task to present their learnings and challenges in the project implementation based on specific interventions. After the LGU testimonials, the participants were grouped according to LGUs for the planning workshop. The LGU representatives were given time to think of activities to be conducted aligned with the interventions and its respective budget. The project officers and finance team guided the LGU partners in their budgeting.

On the 2nd day, a representative per province presented the proposed activities for Years 2 and 3. Another open forum was conducted. Recommendations were given and agreed. Ms. Maningo appreciated the LGUs’ consciousness of the budget. Mr. Blanker shared the body the key agreements and next steps. He emphasized that the activities planned in the workshop are just indicative and are still subject for review and approval. Kasilak Development Foundation Inc. Executive Director Mr. Joemil S. Montebon gave the synthesis of the 2-day event. Philippine Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas (PhilDHRRA) Regional Coordinator Mr. Glenn Bais gave the closing remarks.
