In August 9, 2011, Mahintana in partnership with the South Cotabato Provincial Blood Bank (SCPBB) and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Polomolok, supported by Dole Philippines, Inc. and Kasilak Development Foundation, Inc., sponsored a Bloodletting activity at the Calderon Park, Cannery, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Forming part of Mahintana’s 3 major activities in celebration of its 34th Founding Anniversary, the undertaking was conducted in response to the increased incidence of Dengue cases in the municipality of Polomolok. Data from the Provincial Epidemics Surveillance Unit (PESU) of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) of South Cotabato show that as of July 2011, Polomolok has a total of 174 reported Dengue cases, ranking the municipality the highest among other municipalities in the province, followed by Koronadal at 47 cases.
