Mahintana Operations Manager Mr. Jobe C. Tubigon, together with the President & CEO Mr. Martiniano L. Magdolot and Admin & Finance Ms. Liza D. Hora, attended the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Asia Pacific Regional Meeting on Nov. 5-6, 2018 at The Westin Chosun, Seoul, South Korea. The team was with the South Cotabato District I Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes to represent the Philippines on the synergy between the local government and CSOs in implementing OGP programs.
The delegates shared the implementation of programs, outcomes and challenges during the roundtable discussions on Civil Society Day. During the Open Ceremony, one of the speaker was Gov. Fuentes who shared the local governance initiatives of the province and the OGP commitments such as open legislation, open monitoring, open contracting, etc. On one of the breakout sessions, Mr. Tubigon spoke of Legislative Information Tracking Systems (LITS) as CSO initiative and a tool for open legislation. He said that LITS in advancing open data and improving legislative openness and performance in local governments.
