On March 9, 2026, Mahintana, through its MOVE-UP Project funded by BPI Foundation, Inc., successfully conducted the turnover of Ready-to-Lay (RTL) chickens to three partner People’s Organizations in Polomolok, South Cotabato: the United Aquatic Farmers Association (UAFA) in Barangay Lumakil, the Creek Magsaysay Polomolok Irrigator’s Association (CMPIA) in Barangay Magsaysay, and the TANAMAHIN Farmers Association in Purok Amgou, Barangay Landan.

The activity was implemented through the collaboration of Mahintana Foundation, Inc. (MFI), the Local Government Unit of Polomolok through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAG) Polomolok, the People’s Council of Polomolok, the Regional Crop Protection Center (RCPC), and the Barangay Local Government Units of Lumakil, Magsaysay, and Landan.


During the activity, Ms. Liza Lopez, Executive Director of Mahintana Foundation, Inc., delivered a message of support highlighting potential initiatives that the associations can undertake to further strengthen and expand their organizations. She also emphasized the possible technical assistance and capacity-building support that Mahintana Foundation can provide to help sustain and enhance the livelihood initiatives of the beneficiary groups.
Mr. Ruel Herezo, President of the People’s Council of Polomolok, also expressed his support and encouraged the members to remain active and united in strengthening their respective People’s Organizations. Meanwhile, Mr. Samson Domaoan, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAG) Polomolok, discussed potential support from the LGU, including the provision of vitamins and other technical assistance necessary for the proper care and health management of the chickens.
The activity also featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to formally mark the turnover of the Ready-to-Lay chickens to the beneficiary organizations. In addition, representatives from the Regional Crop Protection Center (RCPC) provided an orientation to the members of UAFA, CMPIA, and the TANAMAHIN Farmers Association on livestock insurance, emphasizing its importance in safeguarding the poultry livelihood of the beneficiaries against potential risks and losses.
