Last July 8-10, 2024 the Madrasah Teachers/Asatidz successfully participated the ALPABASA Training at Assumption College, San Lorenzo, Makati Manila in partnership with Mahintana’s ProPEACE 2 Programme, AY Foundation, Assumption College, and Read to Achieve Foundation Philippines, Inc.
The training was headed by Ms. Patricia Gonzalez-Cruz, Founder of ALPABASA and was attended by 30 teachers from 16 schools: 13 from Luzon, 12 from Visayas, and 5 Madrasahs in Mindanao.
ALPABASA is an effective tool for teaching children how to read. It is a play-based reading program, systematically designed to make reading and writing in Filipino fun and easy for children.
This initiative supports Madrasahs not only by provision of Madrasah buildings but also through enhancing the teaching skills of the Asatidz. The selected Asatidz are expected to rollout the training insights/skills in their respective Madrasahs and share them with their co-Madrasah Facilitators.
