Ending the Year 2 of project implementation, RESOURCEGov Project conducted the Annual Review and Planning Workshop on October 24-25, 2019 at Dusit D2, Lanang, Davao City. The activity was attended by 104 (Male 59, Female 45) comprised by guests from EU Delegation to the Philippines, DILG Central Office, DBM 12, BLGF 12, the Sarangani Vice Governor, local chief executives of the 14 LGU partners and their respective CSO representatives, project management and implementation teams, and the media.
The 2-day activity became an avenue for presentations of the accomplishments and financial updates, as well as, sharing of best practices of the project areas in video testimonials and in open forums. Key messages of support and response to the accomplishments were given to wit: Program Officer Ms. Carol Maningo of the Delegation of European Union to the Philippines, DILG XI Assistant Regional Director (ARD) Atty. Abdullah Matalam, DBM XII Regional Director (RD) Mr. Akmad Usman, BLGF XII RD Mr. Jeany Tedera, and Sarangani Vice Governor Dr. Elmer De Peralta. During the open forums, challenges and opportunities were discussed and among the support gained for the project implementation is the Sarangani Province Vice Governor’s Office’s pledge of Php 3.5M worth of the computers for the cascade of LITS to the barangays of Sarangani. Also, RD Usman shared that national government is to increase the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) and hopes that the LGUs will use the remaining year of the project to equip themselves. For the planning workshop, the spending plan per LGU was distributed to the respective LGU representatives to plan for the Year 3. The consolidated spending plan was presented by the project bookkeepers on Day 2.
