Since 2009, Mahintana Foundation, Inc. through its HEALTH Plus Project has partnered with Provincial Government of South Cotabato on essential drug distribution by establishing HEALTH Plus Shop-in-a-Shop in 4 government hospitals of the province: South Cotabato Provincial Hospital (SCPH, est. in 2009), Norala District Hospital (NDH, est. in 2011), Polomolok Municipal Hospital (PMH, est. in 2013) and Upper Valley Community Hospital (UVCH) in Surallah (est. in 2017).
On June 27, 2017, the project has turned over to the province of South Cotabato the 70% share of the 2016 net savings of the 3 HPSiS in SCPH, NDH and PMH amounting to a total of P1.287M through the Provincial Governor of South Cotabato, Hon. Daisy Avance-Fuentes, Provincial Board Member, Hon. Ester Marin-Catorce and Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Rogelio Aturdido, Jr.
Dr. Aturdido provided a brief orientation of province’s partnership with Mahintana Foundation, Inc. stating that the project has “helped the provincial and municipal/district hospitals provide essential, quality and affordable drugs and medicines to the indigent patients in the instance that these drugs and medicines are unavailable at the hospital pharmacy”. The Provincial Governor, Hon. Fuentes, who was very happy with the turnover, stated in her message that “the partnership of the Province with Mahintana Foundation, Inc. is very positive which is why the project is replicated in other areas of the region”.
The turnover was conducted during the weekly flag raising ceremony of the province attended by the employees of the PLGU-South Cotabato.
