Mahintana Foundation, Inc. facilitated the 3-day Training of Trainers on School-based Adolescent Reproductive Health Education on November 20-22, 2015 at Sarangani Highlands, General Santos City with Resource Speakers from Provincial Population Office, DepEd-PNHS, Municipal Health Office and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of Polomolok and Mahintana Foundation, Inc. Twenty-one (21) secondary school teachers from nine (9) public high schools in Polomolok enhanced knowledge on Adolescent Stage, Gender Orientation, Reproductive Health, knowing more about Adolescent Problems, Early Pregnancy, its Effects and Consequences, Moral, Social, Emotional and Economic accountabilities of raising a child and Life Planning Skills. The 21 teachers who have completed the 3-day training will, in turn, capacitate their co-teachers on school-based curriculum-integrated Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH).
This activity is conducted under the Municipal-wide ARH project implemented by Polomolok Task Force Kalusugan (PTFK) which aims to raise the level of awareness of teenage groups regarding adolescent sexuality, reproductive health and the prevention of STI/HIV/AIDS and ultimately help these young people change their behaviour regarding sex and learn to be responsible adolescents.
