Chairpersons and representatives of Civil Society Organizations in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat underwent a training workshop on LGU accreditation conducted by the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist on April 22, 2014 at the LGU Training Center , with the support of the EU-funded RESOURCEGov Project implemented by Mahintana Foundation, Inc. Mr. Ronald Agwale of DOLE-XII gave inputs on the requirements for DOLE Accreditation while Mr. Rey Ylanan of DA-XII outlined the requirements and guidelines for accreditation and request for project funding from DA. Ms. Lodifel Deypalan -OMAg Staff, briefed the participants on the accreditation requirements with LGU/SB Lambayong. Also present to share their insights on the importance of accreditation and the role of CSOs in local governance were Vice Mayor Ramon Abalos, SB Chair on Agriculture Jay Torreja and Municipal Agriculturist Elpidio Ramos.

The RESOURCEGov Project Team from MFI was also present to give a briefer about the project and its partnership with the DILG and the LGU, and to give technical assistance on the profiling and registration process. CSO Accreditation is mandated under DILG MC number 2013-70 which aims to give CSOs legal identity, weed out fake and dubious organizations and facilitate social development work in rural communities.
