As a response to the invitation of European Union (EU) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the EU-funded RESOURCEGov project, represented by its Project Manager, Jobe C. Tubigon, has graced as resource presenter to the IP Women’s Summit in Davao City on November 5, 2015. The Summit was organized by the IP MNCHN Project-Mindanao co-implemented by the NCIP, DOH and UNFPA and funded the European Union. The main objective of the Summit was to provide a venue for learning, sharing and discussion of issues covered in the IP MNCHN implementation among the IP women.
About 100 participants from different parts in Mindanao attended the Summit. Particularly, these include the IP women and key leaders from public health sector from Carmen of North Cotabato, Dumingag of Zamboanga del Sur, San Luis of Agusan del Sur, Montevista of Compostela Valley, and Sinuda of Bukidnon.
Complementing the “IP MNCHN Project”, the EU-funded RESOURCEGov project has shared significant inputs/experiences on Local Budget Process and popularized ODK-based Budget Tracking System during the Summit. The participants had acknowledged that they were not very involved in the local budget process and budget tracking, thus, they have appreciated the inputs especially on their emerging roles as CSO/IP sector in the local budget process/budget tracking. They were hoping that the ODK-based budget tracking system will be implemented in their areas to ensure that local budgets are properly monitored.
