Mahintana Foundation along with the subrecipients OND Hesed Foundation and Maguindanaon Development Foundation Inc. implementting the Promoting Peace Engagements and Community Empowerment (ProPEACE) programme joined the two-day Provincial Strategic Action Plan for Peace and Development Communities of Sarangani last March 28-29, 2022 at Venue 88, General Santos City.
The civil society organizations (CSOs) supported by the programme was among the sectors participated and contributed to the strategic action plan along with the identified peace and development communities, academe and the local government unit of Sarangani.
Partners from the Sulong Kapayapaan Sarangani along with the Mindanao State University – Institute of Peace and Development in Mindanao facilitated the two-day event.
During the strategic planning workshops, several topics were identified and presented; concerns about poverty, unemployment, healthcare, education, disaster preparedness and response, and culture and religious tolerance were highlighted as drivers of conflict. The participants identified recommendations for resolving these concerns through various programs, policies, and approaches.
The finalized strategic action plan for peace and development communities will serve as Sarangani’s roadmap for peace and development interventions.
